Kinda disappointed in the recent Thinkpads since they removed deep sleep and only have sleep to idle which is garbage in my experience. I ended up re-enabling hibernate because it would get less than 8 hours on battery while sleeping and would cook in my bag once put into sleep. The framework (at least the 13 not sure on the pro) still supports deep as far as I’m aware.

There was also the article about the millionaire (billionaire?) that got their private plane to be taxed as green. IIRC

Networking isn’t my forte but I thought IP addressing required layer 3 switching? Which is going to be dependent on your switch supporting it.

It will come back if you set it to start on boot. Make sure you set its priority to start before anything else that requires network connectivity. If you ever move to having a cluster it’ll be a real headache because you won’t have a network for quorum and so you’ll have to physically access the box to force start it. I would highly recommend going out and getting a NUC or some other dedicated hardware as a priority before any other expansion.

Yeah, I did it briefly to test if I wanted to use it before getting a dedicated Protectli Vault. But gateway and NAS are both things I recommend not running on Proxmox long term.
Router - for one you can’t form a quorum for a cluster if there is no network so you’d have to physically access the box every restart.
NAS - You lose access to any backups you’re doing and ability to restore if that node fails.

This may be more viable for off-site battery storage for wind and solar farms.

I used the wrong term. Would have been swearing in. Johnson delayed one by over a month in Congress and as far as I know the same can happen in the Senate.

Nah, pretty sure they can just not confirm them.
Yeah, I’d consider myself a bit of a tech enthusiast but I’d never buy a closed source product like smart glasses. I have looked a little into Mentra glasses as it’s open source and it looks like you might be able to stand up your own backend.
It would in no way be an everyday wear for me though. I’d probably only ever wear it for outdoor activities. But honestly a GoPro or equivalent with a harness would probably be a better option for that.
