the AI Safety Measures Act creates a framework that will require the “developers of the largest advanced AI systems” (read: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) to provide public disclosures as to their safety practices, report any significant safety incidents, and remain in line with a set of compliance processes. It also creates a channel for whistleblowers working inside AI labs to safely and securely relay any safety concerns they might have without fear of repercussions.
Whoa this sounds pretty serious. It asks these companies to self report safety incidents and creates a “channel” for whistleblowers.
That’s some serious hammer dropping. 🙄
OpenAI and Anthropic both endorsed the bill as it moved through the legislature
Of course they did because this is just the Democratic version of what Republicans do with regulatory capture. They just like to dress their version up with a facade of “consumer protections” when the law doesn’t actually protect anyone or improve anything.

Unless the DNC decides not to have a primary like we saw with Biden in '24 or use their wealth and power to crush progressive candidates like they tried to do in the NYC mayoral election. You’re dangerously naive if you think that the issue with these people holding us under their thumb is that they don’t have enough support from us.
You’re the accelerationist here because you’re the one demanding we turn our brains off and support the status quo and let them do as they wish. You’re being played like a fiddle.

You wanna talk about propaganda? How about your assertion that the Democratic party is the only thing standing between us and the destruction of the nation when we can all see with our own eyes that they are more than happy to help push forth Trump’s agenda. You sound like a MAGA Republican who drank too much koolaid.

If all you moron chucklefucks voted for progressives in democratic primaries and kept republicans out in the general then we wouldn’t be nuts fucking deep in a fascism right now
Except the DNC goes out of their way to sabotage the campaigns of progressive candidates in the primaries and convince everyone that these people are “extremists who can’t win,” so that their right-wing members can continue to win elections and ignore the will of the voters since so many people like yourself are willing to vote for literally anyone just so long as they aren’t the other guy.
This is precisely why fascism took over because we have two parties controlled by fascists and people like yourself refuse to see the light and change your ways. You still think voting for the lesser evil today will somehow lead to candidates who aren’t evil in the future but that’s not how things work as evidenced by 250 years of our history and the fact that it makes zero logical sense.
The DNC knows that you will always compromise your supposed beliefs in order to make the other guy lose therefore they have zero reason to ever do anything for you. Republicans do the exact same thing and thats why they’ve both held on to power all this time despite nearly everyone hating them both. You’re just feeding right into their game.

What a joke. Harris, the ex-prosecutor who worked directly with police to send people to jail would have somehow banned these devices? Based on what exactly, the (D) next to her name?
These cameras are all over Democratic cities because they love surveillance too. Look how many stories about people wrongfully accused/arrested of crimes based on junk Flock data have come out of places like Colorado and California.
Furthermore Democrats are all on board with other mass surveillance laws such as the KIDS Act, requiring people to show ID to install operating systems or go online, which has a majority support amongst both Democratic and Republican legislators. Obama happily continued the PATRIOT Act, and the list goes on.
What a bunch of absolute nonsense pulled straight from your behind.

Those lights were absolute garbage though and the vehicles that used them got half the gas mileage compared to new ones due to their blocky shape and lack of aerodynamics.
I just saw a video from a local news channel about a different patch of land in Georgia where Georgia Power was given an easement across a bunch of people’s land, essentially cutting these people’s property in half, then they clear cut the forest at the back of their properties and installed some giant transmission line towers also to power datacenters. One young couple interviewed had just bought their property and were planning on using the land to grow food but now they can’t and they also can’t sell because only half their property is usable despite them having paid for the entire plot.
