We are talking about America, aren’t we, smart guy?

Laws exist to perpetuate the system, ie capitalism, which is based on exploitation. Also to enforce it with violence—physical and otherwise.
No apology needed, you’re fine. I was tilted off reading OP’s nonsense. Hate when cishet folks decide what’s problematic or not for queer folks. Thanks for the support.
It sounded to me like you were disagreeing with my original comment, where I was trying to say the assertion that homophobes are closet cases is problematic. If I misunderstood you, that’s my bad
Comrade, you are so close to realizing that we’re making the same point.
That’s… not really the same at all. Because again, it’s about beliefs. I’ll wager Hegseth isn’t trans; yet we do know he’s a Deus Vult christofascist who thinks trans folks should die.
That is a separate issue from my belief that people should have access to HRT. But go off, I guess.
I skipped the rest of your comment
How convenient for you. I’m out, have a great life.
Then I do know things you don’t about grindr hookups.
If data has proven this time and again, surely you won’t mind directing me to this data.
I wonder: are you gay?
I find importance in combatting this myth because as a queer person, it’s frankly tiring to hear “homophobes are just repressed self-hating gays, actually” over and over—usually from straight people. It’s the “adult” version of saying, “they’re just bullying you because they like you”.
What does this narrative do for anyone? It misses the point of why these people do what they do: they’re bigoted. It reframes the issue from being about straight people oppressing gay people to gays oppressing themselves. It functions as a quick “gotcha” to make these people look pathetic, and for us to feel “better” than them. Which, well… they’re Republicans. Do we need to grasp at straws, especially now? We don’t.
We never hear about “DNC conventions crash grindr”. Why? Are we to believe the percentage of gays—and all closeted, no less—is higher in the republican party than the democrats? I don’t find such a thesis compelling. In fact, Pew found in 2024 that over 80% of LGBTQ voters are democrats. Yet somehow, only GOP cons are a problem. I don’t think so.
If using gay people as a cheap cudgel against the GOP is more important to you; if you’re more invested in being right on the internet; that’s a you problem. Goodbye ✌️
I listed LA. SF also is red on this map. I think the real question is why do you need this narrative to be true?
Have you ever used grindr?
What time of day do you think most grindr hookups happen? I’ll give you a hint… it’s not the morning

I think you hit the nail on the head, yeah. I’m of the same opinion.
I’ve seen some militant MLs drag the DSA and progressive politicians as “sheepdogs”, which personally I think does us a disservice. It’s understandable for people to have a dim view of incremental change. But in my mind, we need to attack the status quo from as many angles as we can, within the system and without.
Guess we’ll see if this bait post lasts any longer than the previous one. Don’t bother feeding the troll… just report
