The fact that these platforms are trying to remove the block button is, to my mind, the strongest argument in favor of using it. These platforms are often mentally corrosive and will do everything in their power to ensure that you stay addicted, outraged, and idle. If you’re busy debating reactionary idiots, who these days might not even be real people, then that is sapping your mental energy away from more productive efforts in your party/union.
Maybe you are just afraid to have your preconceptions challenged and are here for a quick ego fix. Which is cool and all, we all doomscroll, we need that dopamine, but I don’t believe that is the purpose of a forum like this. Tik Tok might be a better match.
