I would much have preferred the layoff to go ahead and all that talent go into competition with Meta. Then when the AI agents failed, they would struggle to recover.

I think if a company is going to be successful at using this framework for anything, its going to be a company that started that way. Trying to like, retool a ship like Facebook (yes, I’ll always deadname them) when its the behemouth that it is…
It would seem far more sensible to me for these companies to have curated a crop of small companies to experiment and fail with what works and what doesn’t where things can be automated, then buy up and replace components as they went along. It would just match their track record better.
I guess they figure they are in the end game for implementing global authoritarian fascism anyways.
