It’s really unfortunate because Black Metal is one of the most expressive and expansive subgenres of metal, with a plethora of sub-sub-genres of its own and it’s been co-opted by Nazis and various other racists as a platform for their hate.
They just openly ignore the fact that metal’s foundational ideals are that of rebellion and speaking truth to power which makes it super fucking awkward when they then proceed to insert bootlicker politics like Nazism into their lyrics and imagery.
