Did some poking around and the more I learn about her, the more I appreciate her existence.

    The album is “something special” and has her original recording of “I will always love you” which she says Whitney’s version was peak.

      I keep hearing about how Whitney’s is better but never heard Dolly’s until just now. Whitney is so much better, I’m so glad Dolly wrote that for her to improve on. Like Cash owning Hurt

        Obviously Whitney Houston’s version is amazing and her voice is incredible, but for me Dolly’s version feels more real and somehow hits me harder. And obviously she sounds incredible as well. I probably heard Dolly’s version first so that might play into it.

        • Dolly’s version is a bunch of strong emotions you’re just barely managing to hold back.

          Whitney’s version is a bunch of strong emotions you’re absolutely letting out.

          Both are incredible and deserved their spots at the top of the charts.
