185 Population with a Count! I didn’t experiment too much with engineering this fort, but mostly with keeping my dwarves happy! Large rooms, masterwork furniture, engraved walls; all the jazz. I have been playing with the Masterfork mod. Took about 4 days in total, not much time!

The first six “rows” of rooms are smoothed, less decorated rooms for residents, travelers and pilgrims. The rest is a massive apartment-complex of rich furniture and various extra displays depending on the “temper” the dwarves inhabiting the room have. It’s an okay fortress, perfectly capable of self-sustaining with a full steel militia of 20 dwarves. Precious metals were rare, hence why I moved onto Magmacrypt; which has a variety of metals but surrounded by omens of extreme !!!FUN!!! in the form of Giant Corpse Keas.

In the snapshot above, we have the tavern northward, where most dwell, with the barracks right underneath very close to the entrance.

Below we have the actual fortress entrance. It has been fortified with simple shale fortifications and a giant hallway filled to the brim with a variety of traps, mainly serrated saw-blades, with a variety of other weapons from previous invaders that have been put in place of the weapon traps. Why take the extra step to melt down weapons from Orcs when we are going to shove them into the weapon-trap anyways?

Otherwise, dwarves are exceedingly happy here. One of my happiest forts yet, strangely enough. They really, really love the tavern and they actually get work done when I need it. They keep getting mood-boosts from defeated invasions, so that perhaps is part of it.
