The polls are still are showing less than 25% support for separation and they are pulling every dirty trick in the book to get it that high. In the 2023 provincial election it was 928,900 UCP to 777,404 NDP. I’m not saying there isn’t a problem, or that we’re not outnumbered, but it’s not by a big margin. The waves of attempted recall elections in the first half of 2026 should tell you that people are not happy, and the fact the province keeps moving the goal posts and deciding to void its own rules just to hang on to power should tell you that it’s not a small group of dissidents. We’d have an NDP Premier in this province if 4 ridings shifted and 100k people in the urban metros changed their minds. (or, like half a Toronto suburb moved to Calgary for a year).
