I see something similar as with that press secretary whatsername: they come from conservative families and have learned early on that a pro-MAGA stance will give them positive attention. As adults, they see a career in this. They are kinda half aware that their looks and youth and traditional gender role can only be an advantage so they turn it all out. It’s not about studying politology or some such, though of course they need to be literate as well (no, seriously. And I don’t think that precludes people from being stupid assholes).

It’s what the USA’s hustle culture makes of people.
