As an American, I assume his death brought some feelings of justice to some people that lost loved ones due to 9/11 but it wasn’t a celebration with champagne kind of moment for me. It wasn’t a “let’s join the queue to piss on his grave” feeling.
I’m against the death penalty, and the details of his capture and death weren’t released immediately. Based on what I recall I know now that it would have been unlikely to capture him alive. It was just a feeling that Obama did what Bush didn’t prioritize. Obama did something that the Republican failed to do. But it would have been something to put bin Laden on trial and see all that.
Not even close. That was a pretty lame “USA! USA! USA!” moment considering they had hunted him for almost half a century after actively having helped create him.
The rest of the world was like “ok” and went on with their days.
