Don’t they just spoof numbers anyway?
My thoughts exactly. How is it even possible to spoof numbers? There should be a law against that, but I’m afraid that there is some technical reason and banning spoofing might then lead to something like chat control. Who knows.
Yeah I think it’s mainly a technical thing. Caller ID wasn’t originally designed with security in mind. Plus it’s a bunch of Indian call centers doing it, so there’s jurisdiction issues making laws pretty useless.
I imagine that if a call is coming from outside of France but has a French subscriber number that doesn’t exist, it should be possible to block the call entirely.
