DDG is a Bing frontend though.
Ecosia and Qwant is where it’s at - they are creating an independent search index to be able to ditch Bing and Google. And Ecosia is trying to save the planet and have so far planted more than 250 million trees - just an added benefit.
if they are not using Bing anymore maybe i can configure to use them in SearXNG
As far as I know, some users (French and German?) use the independent index and the rest are still on Google and Bing, however it’s been a while since I have heard news about it, so that might have changed.
