Anybody with a passing interest in modern military could have told you this. You don’t want to use an interceptor worth $2m to shoot down a drone that costs tens of thousands, unless it’s heading for something vital. Remember too that an interceptor system can’t just be purchased in unlimited quantities, so in the short term a fired missile is one less you have for tomorrows threats.
Ukraine and Russia have been doing this math every day for like 5 years.
It’s almost like they should have been working with and learning from Ukraine this whole time. I guess they will blame all this on Biden.
