What the fuck is this? I feel like I’m missing something here. Is the game in a bad state or are they just worried playcount will drop when a more popular game comes out?

Is this AC supposed to be huge or special out of this shovelware series?

It’s in a very good state and is a solid release.

However, I’m not sure how someone is expected to play it when GTA6 is out. It’s still attached to the same old AC flow where it’s technically sandbox, but not really, and the game is stitched together by collection checklists and oversaturated by combat opportunities.

Even as DLC brings expansion content, unless they make AC feel less like an arcade game and add more purpose to it, I’m afraid it’s wishful thinking from Ubisoft.

I’d recommend you get and finish Blackflag now so GTA doesn’t steal you from it before you’re finished. It’s almost worth the price.

Personal question: is the combat any better than Odyssey? I have not played many AC maybe because the combat felt boring and filled with animations that stop the action and take away control from the player. I would love a sandbox to fight without purpose, so long as the combos are fun to master. Odyssey came close but not close enough to actual melee combat games like Nioh DSouls, DmC, etc.

Not expecting as deep, but deeper.

I haven’t played Odyssey but I don’t know why it would be any different to the combat style of the other five or so I’ve played, which has always been the same.

The next AC, I’m sure, will continue to just be a reskin of the combat of the first. It’s always the same mechanics, buttons, and even animations despite all these years and titles now…

But, put it out there, you might enjoy the Kingdom Come Deliverence games if you want satisfying combos and combat mastery in a sandbox adventure game.
