I’m not saying that Platner wasn’t scummy, but this worked out very conveniently for the corpo Dems.

All it takes these days is enough money and you can buy literally any political seat in this country.

People still think the U.S. is the least corrupt nation in the world.

Dude almost 60 and was anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ even after he switched to being a Democrat.

He’s hitting that age where people naturally start acting like when they were 20 again, falling back on habit and assumptions.

Doesn’t matter for Bernie because when he was 20 he was protesting for civil rights. What got Jackson into politics was complaining about migrant worker.

Jackson will only continue to become more conservative thoughout the 6 year term he just got handed despite failing miserable at anything bigger than state senator.

I hope this works out, but it’s almost a certainly not going to.

We got our new Fetterman! Fetterman can safely fuck off and become the Republican he always was and the Democrats don’t need to worry about actually passing anything helpful, Jackson will save them with his concern for the nature of xyz bill.

It’s the state Democratic party that decided. That neither the people as a whole nor the DNC.

Specifically it’s the neoliberals from Florida that committed fraud and lost the state last election who were for some reason handed the Maine state party…

        https://lemmy.world/post/49211604/24673313

Devon Murphy-Anderson has fucked up every single thing she has attempted in politics but no matter what she does she fails upwards despite not even rating a Wikipedia page. The only thing about her online is puff pieces, but when you look up the shit she’s bragging about, none of it ever worked.

This will go like everything else she’s touched:

However, her leadership faced a new and serious challenge in the summer of 2026. The state’s Democratic U.S. Senate nominee, Graham Platner, was accused of serious sexual assault. The crisis threatened to ruin the party’s whole plan to defeat Susan Collins. Instead of dealing with the scandal quietly, Murphy-Anderson took a very public, firm stand that matched the strict ethical principles she outlined in her college thesis, written years earlier.

As the Platner campaign attempted to influence the party’s process for selecting a replacement nominee, Murphy-Anderson released a firm public rebuke. She stated clearly that his team had repeatedly attempted to “put their thumb on the scale” and firmly declared they would have absolutely “no role” in determining the next Democratic nominee. She swiftly organized an emergency meeting of over 100 state committee members to establish an open, transparent nominating convention to choose a successor. Her clear and firm handling of the crisis showed a leader who does not give in to pressure from inside the party, successfully removing a harmful candidate while keeping the party very focused on its bigger election goals.

Seriously, look into any of the things that “article” brags about, and you’ll see none of it’s has ever worked.

She brags about a florida Latino outreach that cost insane amounts of money, and then trump won florida.

Her taking the lead on this almost guarantees it fails somehow or another.

Point of order. The N in DNC is for National. There is no state DNC. It’s generally referred to as a party at the state level.

Power generally flows in the other direction. State Democratic Parties choose DNC members, though the exact process varies a lot from state to state.

“Generally” if you mean in the last couple years since Biden/Kamala shit the bed and Martin started dumping VF money on state parties with zero strings…

From 2015 to 2025 the DNC controlled state parties by stealing their money thru the VF and only giving it to them if they did what neoliberals said.

Neolibs lost the DNC, but still have a few states like Maine and Cali.
