It’s dumb but it’s an existing 50% discount program he’s just increasing the income limit. Probably the best thing about this is drawing attention to the program since most of the people eligible don’t know it exists.
Thanks. That’s definitely better than I thought. That it was existing I mean. Doing all the infra required to add a means tested program did not sound like a Mamdani style policy. But just making it a less strict means test is a step in the right direction. Just better quality of life changes over and over from Mamdani. He’s really selling sewer socialism well to New York.
