NV learned from an eyewitness what has changed in the actions of the Russian army near Pokrovsk recently and what the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing in response.

According to the officer, the Pokrovsk sector remains priority No. 1 for the Russian command on the entire eastern front: groupings of two combined arms armies and the 76th Air Assault Division are concentrated here, and units of the 90th Tank Division were previously recorded. This is the largest concentration of forces the enemy keeps around one agglomeration, and over the past six months it has not gone anywhere.

The defense of Pokrovsk will become legendary for Ukraine, the maximum brunt of russian armored assault was focused here and it did not matter, Ukraine broke the back of the russian army.

The fact that Pokrovsk has mostly fallen is a tragedy but it is the farthest thing from a military failure possible, just look at how depleted motivation and intiative is for russian forces now in the area. All the russian military can do is crawl into Pokrovsk hoping to not get blown up before they reach a basement.
