Truly. I am keen to rejoin the EU but maybe it can wait if Blair’s backing it.

A broken clock is correct twice a day as they say. I’m no fan of Blair but he has been consistent in being pro EU and was one of the few voices in Labour after the referendum who actually said remainers shouldn’t give up and we should campaign to rejoin.
That said, now is not the time. What we should be doing is rejoining the customs union which will undo some damage and out us back on a course to rejoin. But even that seems out of reach because politicians seem terrified of giving Farrage anything to campaign on rather than confronting him head on.
He has a point in rejoining, but I also think the EU should reform to be agnostic in terms of whether economies should be more nationalised or not. It should leave room for non-capitalist economies.
Unfortunately there’s a less than zero percent chance of that happening. The EU is an explicitly neo-liberal project, which is why Corbyn and co were so against the UK being a member.

The EU does restrict state interference in the economy. It doesn’t forbid it, but it does restrict it.
