      He’s not taking a “both sides are bad” take. He’s taking a “I don’t want to deal with politics, I just want to perform”.

        Going back a few days to Ed’s original statement:

        “I am appalled by the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The suffering and pain caused on both sides is a human tragedy,” begins Sheeran in an Instagram post.

        It’s at least a little bit of a “both sides are bad” take.

        But then why ban Macklemore unless he suspected Macklemore would’ve gone on a political rant?

        Regardless, not using your platform to advocate for people without a platform is a form of complicity.
