Recently watched The Seven Year Itch (1955) and the man claims to be 37. He looks like a young 50. Cigarettes.
Just watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Nicholson was 38 during filming. I thought he looked 50 too.
Nah he looks 38 lol
No, he definitely looks well into 45+
I’m 38. He does not look 38.
Well he doesn’t look 50 that’s for sure. His hairline isn’t great, but people in their 20s can have a fucked up hairline.
He does. Its just the hairstyle
And the creases.
You mean wrinkles?
Yep. English and their 100 case-dependent meanings.
I apologize lol
I’m just a few months behind that… no he does not.
As I get older, the more I agree
Maybe a ripe 32 if you ask me.
16 going on 35.
Bottom half looks 38. Top half looks 48.
When I was a kid, restaurants still smelled like tobacco.
Didn’t really stop until early 2000’s
I remember this on older busses and coaches as a child, and the ashtrays on the back of seats. Mustve been wack in the 1990s with how much indoor smoking was still accepted.
I don’t know what it peaked, but by the 90s presence of smoking was trending downwards
There were still smoking sections in restaurants for a bit.
It took government regulations in the US to slow and stop this practice
Recently did a watch of Rear Window (1954), and yeah, there’s a scene in the beginning where the main character’s nurse calls the main character “young man”. Main character (Jimmy Stewart?) was 46 at the film’s release.
Wild.
That’s called acting. ::smug face::
They cast people younger and older than their character role because the actor’s age is secondary to they’re ability to play the character. ::smugger face::
Just uh … don’t look too much into what roles John Wayne and others played when it came to race, back then. They uhhhhh…had different standards back then. It was a different time, you see. It wasn’t…it uh…it wasn’t looked at the same way back then. Ok gtg byeeeee
Sunlight is the big factor in premature aging of the skin and especially face. Cigarettes are said to be a big factor too, as is hard liquor to excess.
My years of being a basement virgin devoid of sunlight, are paying back 100x. Ohhh yeaaaaah! 😎
It isn’t cigarettes. It’s being outside in the sun a lot more that really ages. Cigarettes are can but don’t age people nearly as much as UV does.
