      “Wahhh, Trump is being targeted.”

Wish they hadn’t missed. He’s a wannabe Hitler.

Fuck you and your false equivalences.

Trump’s hate speech and policies have killed countless people.

Have you noticed your sources tend to be “so-and-so apologizes, removes offending remark”? Do we get that same level of self-awareness from the right?

Did you even read that Reddit post?

Frequently in political discussions, someone will reject a criticism of republicans by saying that democrats aren’t perfect either. I agree they aren’t perfect and should be criticsed but they are a much less flawed choice for government for most people than republicans and it’s important to make this point. Pretending otherwise can be a lazy attempt at appearing mature by making a false equivalence between both sides or apathy that justifies not paying closer attention to politics because ‘they [politicians] are all the same’. This attitude led to Trump’s election because people thought both sides are the same (i.e. using private emails was equivalent to a decades long history of derogatory treatment of women because ‘they’re both awful’).

          It’s critical of you.

          Let’s check some comments:

The GOP actually executed a sophisticated funding project to capture state houses—and thus, redistricting authority—prior to the 2010 census redistricting. That action, by a major political party is an attempt to manipulate the ‘power’ of American citizens votes according to their party’s current interests. That is fundamentally undemocratic, full stop. This is not a case of one political party simply having the option to do a thing while the other did not.

There tend to be more indictments of federal officials under Republican administrations, and almost all of the major political scandals through the last several decades were executed under Republicans (Watergate, Iran-Contra, Iraq and Afghani wars). In fact, the only major scandal under a Democrat since Nixon was the Lewinsky scandal, which was widely considered to be political posturing by Republicans, which is why they lost Congressional seats in the 1998 midterm. This is a 40-year pattern.

It’s not that “Republicans unfairly criticized Obama for taking vacations and now Democrats are unfairly criticizing Trump for taking vacations.” It’s that Republican criticisms and Trump personally were objectively out of line and now Trump has taken more vacations than Obama after specifically criticizing Obama for that. AFAIK Obama hasn’t said a word about Trump’s vacations, and the elected officials in the Democratic Party are not harping on it nearly to the extent that Republicans did.

That the Senate in the Trump years would set out to upend the American health-care system largely in secret was a dramatic and genuinely shocking example of how the decay of norms is not an abstract problem. It threatens the most basic commitments of our democracy.

Stop defending nazis, dumb fuck. We see through your stupid bullshit.
