    Physical media doesn’t really contain the whole game anymore since most games get a day 1 patch and further patches to make them actually release-quality, BUT the physical media still represents what people consider to be an irrevocable license. People expect purchasing games to be like purchasing a super Nintendo game back in the day was. No one can take it away from you. If there were strong consumer rights around the purchase of digital media people probably wouldn’t care as much, but in the meantime we have Sony actively demonstrating they will fuck you over by removing movies from people’s accounts.

    Also, I can buy a physical game copy and share it with my friends and family when I’m done. Not being able to do that is a giant middle finger in this.
