I find the psychology of these people fascinating. I agree that glorifying them isn’t great, but understanding what makes them tick could provide useful information. For example, what makes a kid raised in a conservative family decide to take a shot at a conservative president? What nerve got struck, what article did this kid read that led him down that path? Can we use that to back-map a path to unfuck people who watch Fox News exclusively?
