Your first screenshot could be from any 80s Serie A game, any 90s Premier League game, any 00s League of Ireland game, and any game in South America yesterday. As someone who actually goes to football matches, what happens on the pitch frequently fails to make it to the screen. It’s just unavoidably televised at the World Cup.

I’m sorry but the way they played was the way everyone played 30 years ago. It’s up to the referees, with more tools than ever, to implement the rules, and they did. Playing rough, or even playing negatively, are not against the rules or any less valid. It didn’t work for them last night and yes for neutrals it’s never as good, but this is sport not sports entertainment.

If everyone played exactly the same it would be boring. And as international transfers homogenise everything, we don’t have Brazil playing jogo bonito, we don’t have Ireland playing I-cant-believe-its-not-gaelic-football, we don’t have Germans playing elaborate sweeper systems. At least Argentina are pretty much the same as they were when Maradona played, and Sivori before him - tough, ugly and liable to produce individual magic. They have an identity. I don’t know why anyone is surprised at them retaining it, or it nearly being successful. Again.

Copilot isn’t an LLM. You can choose different LLMs per response, eg Chat GPT, Claude.

System images exist, but ok? Assuming most people don’t have that technical knowledge, all those non-DRM games still work. I can copy and paste Kerbal Space Program and play it anywhere. The games with DRM I bought, I bought knowing what I was buying. I also bought knowing that what I was purchasing was smooth distribution and streamlined updates and safe and easy network play and not running random Russian .exes with an EDM soundtrack while cracking; but also with trust that those would still exist if Steam didn’t.

Thousands of games are distributed in that form on Steam too. It’s a publisher/developer choice which DRM they use on Steam if any.

And if it’s Steam DRM they use, the solution if Steam goes offline is… the button that says “Go Offline”.

This has 3 upvotes at time of writing in a technology community when it’s so obviously ignorant of the actual technology that it should be an object of pity or mockery depending on the vibe.

Ok. I can’t imagine being completely unfamiliar with the Israel-Palestine conflict, one of the most contentious and bloody conflicts on-goingfor the last 70 years. But I’m from Ireland where it is centred, and ignorance is not always someone’s own fault.

I’m confused. What do you mean “would not stop”? Israel’s response was genocidal mania from the beginning. What was the limit of collective punishment on civilians you were ready to support? Was it measured in weeks or in dead children?
